As sister sciences, Yoga and Ayurveda teach that each of us is bestowed with a blueprint for living a full and vibrant life -- physically, emotionally, spiritually. When we support and nurture our unique nature, we realize our vitality and potential. When we go against, we may experience life as a physical and emotional struggle. In the ultimate sense Yoga and Ayurveda are sciences which guide us to live a healthy, joyful, and fully integrated life.
Silke invites you to an 8 day retreat to revel in the beauty of the Big Island of Hawai'i and to explore the interrelationship of Yoga and Ayurveda. Learn how the combination of the two sciences balances your nature and helps unveil your highest capacities. The morning yoga classes will be specifically designed to build your knowledge on an experiential level. The afternoon classes will include an in depth discussion of Ayurveda and Yoga, as well as therapeutic and restorative practices.
Topics included during the retreat:
- the doshas: the three primary humors - their function and characteristics
- prakriti and vikriti: balance vs. imbalance in each constitution
- the effects of asana and pranayama on the doshas/humors
- meditation practices for different constitutions, different life circumstances
- the doshas as they relate to seasons, life cycles, and geography
- designing a personal practice for the highest expression of your nature
